BMX SUPERCROSS WORLD CUP SEASON COMES TO AN END THIS WEEKEND

Team Canada continues Olympic qualification process with ultimate race in Chula Vista

(Ottawa, ON – September 25, 2014) A large group of 11 bmxers will be competing this weekend in the last BMX SuperCross World Cup of the 2014 season in Chula Vista, California.

The team is led by Tory Nyhaug, BMX World Championship silver medallist and multiple medallist at UCI BMX SuperCross World Cups this season. Nyhaug is looking to end the season with a strong performance. Jim Brown is also looking to continue his strong season. Brown posted his career top performance at the last World Cup in Argentina, taking the fifteenth place and his career first semi-final berth.

Amelia Walsh and Eliane McAdam will race in the Elite Women category. Walsh, the reigning Canadian BMX Champion, will be looking to build on the career-best 20th place earned this season in Berlin. McAdam will hope to continue her string of strong results on North American soil at the World Cup level, with her career best performances earned in Chula Vista (20) and Abbotsford (12).

Action begins on Friday night with the qualifying motos and the Time Trial SuperFinals. The SuperCross motos and Finals will take place Saturday.
