The Grey County Road Race (June 15-17, 2017 – Blue Mountain village, ON) is the only North American event of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series (UCI GFWS, formerly known as the UCI World Cycling Tour). By participating in this event, riders have a chance to qualify for the UCI GFWS finale (Age group World Championships) that will be happening in Albi, France on August 24th, 2017.

Cycling Canada will not be distributing wildcards for participation in the UCI GFWS, since there a qualifier event in Canada. For more information about qualification, please consult the UCI GFWS website above.

Team kit – UCI GFWS

A special kit was made last year specifically for riders participating in the finale (and other Masters events where a national team kit is required) and will be made available again for 2017. It is now possible to order through the following website on the Louis Garneau website by clicking here.

***Please take note that the design is the same as 2016. The 2017 jersey is the Mondo cut (aero, tighter jersey than the 2016 Neo jersey). The bibs and skinsuits are the same model as 2015. The Women/Men skinsuit is the same model (unisex), only the chamois is different. The bibs, however, have a different cut for Men vs Women.***

Canadian riders competing at the UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships can order the skinsuit created specifically for Masters competitions. You can place an order by clicking here. Please refer to info published above for model and sizing information.

Please note that it is not possible for participants to compete in the national team skinsuit used by the Canadian National Team.

DEADLINE TO ORDER: The online shop will close July 28 at 23:59 EST. Clothing will be shipped from the Cycling Canada office in Ottawa the first week of September.

Other important information

Permission letters for competing outside of Canada: please note that permission letters from the National federation are not requested for Canadian riders competing in the USA, according to a mutual agreement between the 2 federations.

Cycling Canada is not involved in the selection of participants for this event and does not have specific requirements in place. It is the responsibility of the rider to make sure he is eligible to compete, has a valid UCI license and is compliant with anti-doping regulations. We invite you to pay close attention to the technical guide of the event, published by the organizer.
